Real-life Heroes

Michael Marshall writes for The Crozet Gazette about a ceremonial dinner thrown for the Western Albemarle Rescue Squad.

The one hundred active volunteers were celebrated, received prizes and their best and most courageous moments were highlighted. Joseph Campbell has described heroes as”(…)someone giving his or her life for something bigger than himself.” and these real-life heroes constantly save lives and improve their community, doing justice to Campbell’s definition.
