They come from the lair behind our eyes and between our years . We are their flesh their scales their belly their teeth . They are the great fish the sea serpent. They are our body our family our church our state our institution . They feed on and consume us as we transubstantiate consubstanciate within them .
The Dragons are us …
And where we had thought to find a Dragon, we shall find a god; where we had thought to slay a Dragon, we shall slay ourselves; where we had thought to travel outward, we shall come to the center of our own existence; and where we had thought to be alone, we shall be with all the Dragons.
